1955 Buick Special

If you love the classics of the 50's but are tired of just being another tri five Chevy in the crowd then this 55 Buick Special is definitely something that needs to be on your radar.  The car is just about the same size and weight as a 55 Chevy but the styling on these old Buicks is something special.  Portholes on the sides, unique trim pieces, and a stylish grill give these cars a luxurious yet custom look that always stands out from the crowd.  This semi custom Buick has a lot of neat features and looks great.  It has a mostly stock appearing exterior and the Galway Green with Cameo Beige top is the original color combo.  The original paint is an older Nason base/clear coat that still has a nice finish.  The body is entirely free of rust and the only flaws are minor and what you would expect to see on any car that gets driven.  The bumpers have mild pitting in spots so with the purchase you will also get a completely rechromed front/rear bumper set as well as a used grill and tail light trim pieces.   The glass is all in great shape and is the original factory tinted glass.  The car has a great stance and has been slightly lowered.  It sits on painted to match steel wheels with Oldsmobile hubcaps that really suit the car well especially when wrapped with BF Goodrich T/A wide white wall tires.

Spinning those wheels is a nicely built up 350 V8 motor that has been fitted with a mild street friendly cam, Carter 9625 carburetor, Weiand intake, HEI ignition, Cadillac air cleaner, Weiand valve covers and dual exhaust.  It's a smooth, quick little car but also dependable.  Paired with the motor is a Gearstar TH350 automatic transmission which sends power back to the Chevelle 10 bolt 3.2:1 rear end.  Other components taken from a Chevelle include the Chevelle 4-bar coil spring suspension.  HD gas shocks and antisway bars were also added in front and rear.  Scarebird disc brakes are in place up front with the original spindles and the car has zero stopping issues.

The interior is dresh and done in the original style cloth and vinyl.  The headliner is in great condition and the carpets are all new as well.  The dash has been repainted as have all of the window interior moldings.  All of the original gauges are in place and working well but three aftermarket electric gauges were also added and hidden under the original grille on the dash.  The car is a real factory radio-delete and clock-delete car which adds an extra touch of uniqueness.  The trunk has been carpeted in green to match and houses a spare wheel.

It is a very comfortable car to drive and offers plenty of interior space so the whole family can ride along comfortably.
