This little beauty has
just gone through a complete frame off restorations except for the
cab. Current owner has had the truck for over 35 years.
It is a Series 1 1955 which is the last of the 1954s built, but
titled as 1955. Prior to the restoration is was a Texas rust
free truck. When old trucks are
finished out right they will blow any low down hotrod away.
Usually you're either a car guy or truck guy but this classic may be
one to change your mind. This classic 1955 Chevrolet 5 Window
Pickup combines original touches with customizations to create an
awesome look. The numbers matching truck underwent a complete
restoration where nothing was left untouched. Every nut & bolt
wasa replaced with stainless. The body is very
straight and entirely rust free. It is coated in Silver and
Purple Prowler paint that look great next to each other. The
upper layer was laid down very well accenting the body lines
perfectly. The rear bumper has been removed and fitted with a
custom roll pan. The front
bumper just replaced and has a great shine. That classic large
grill is a lot of chrome but don't worry because every inch shines
like a mirror. You will also find this same great shining
chrome around the headlights, window trim, hood trim, and door
handles. The rear taillights are the teardrop style you would
typically see on a 39 Ford. All of the glass including sides,
front, and rear is brand new and is crystal clear. The rear
tailgate has been replaced with a custom smoothed tailgate that
provided for a great look from the rear.
The rear bed was gone through in the restoration process with all the
polished stainless and oak wood being replaced. The truck has a great look
and rides on a set of new chrome reverse dog dish wheels wrapped with
brand new tires. The spare also received a new tire and is
topped with a custom hard spare tire cover.
The engine getting this
classic down the road is a 235 6 cylinder that has been bored .30
over. It was entirely
professionally rebuilt to the original style specs and runs very well. These
motors are great because it has plenty of power to get this truck
moving but will be a little more forgiving when you pull up to the
gas pump. The block, transmission, manifold, and valve covers
are all coated in blue with "Thriftmaster 235" in yellow. All
of the hoses and wires are cleanly routed and nicely mounted through
the engine compartment. The 6 volt system now utilizes an 8
volt battery for extra power for the electrical system. The
entire rebuild of the car is fresh only being about 50 miles old out
of the total 30,644 original miles on the truck. The entire
exhaust system from the manifold to the chrome tips is entirely new. The manual
transmission utilizes a column shift and is very fun to drive once
you get the hang of it.
The interior on this
truck is very nicely finished out and extremely comfortable.
The bench seat is topped Silver with Purple inserts and look really
great matching the exterior colors. The door panels are done
in a similar way in Purple with Silver inserts and a Silver arm
rest. All of the door hardware is chrome and mounted nicely in
place. The dash is painted in matching Purple and looks very
good. The original style Black face gauges are in place and
are mounted in polished bezels.
This is a very well done
truck that gets looks no matter where you drive it. You will
be getting the "thumbs up" from all sides as you are cruising around
town. It shows very well and has no problem taking home a
trophy. Don't let this nicely done custom slip away.
